C he nice! We are back on track! It started the summer hiking season 2010. The day was magnificent. We are along the lakefront of Lake Garda in the direction of the Sarca Valley (TN) for our next excursion: the path of Scaloni facilities (trail 428).
The beginning of our journey is just in front the convenient parking (though not very large) situated on the outskirts of the town of Ceniga (117m), about 4 km from Arco. To be on February 27 the temperature is quite mild enough to make the atmosphere seem almost spring. After careful evaluation of the map, we decide to make a round trip along a typical route of a place called 'Path of Cavrie', so called because of the presence along the route, the characteristic x poles that supported the cable cars to transport downstream of the wood. narrow street leads to the ancient and characteristic Roman bridge that crosses the Sarca ... beautiful panoramic that can be enjoyed from this point ... the background wall, which should accommodate "our" path. Once across the river, we follow the direction north for a few hundred meters, until reaching to divert the path 428 that reach in a few strides.
Initially we are surrounded by olive trees, and then go into a steep climb to that scree switchbacks. Few minutes and we move into the vegetation, while the bottom of the path becomes more rocky with staircases carved into the rock. The trait that separates us from ' beginning of the first lines of steel is very short.
The way is very simple and well equipped ; the climb is made easier by recent ladders and many steps cut into the rock that make it pleasant even in the steepest ascent. The alternate route is taken by some of normal path, allowing hikers to relax enjoying the beautiful landscape the valley of the Sarca. The route is therefore less tiring despite the path is pretty straightforward, the very steep slope with a vertical drop quite important. In just over half an hour we are box containing the book away.
We also now in the bush and soon came to a clearing where meet the first 'Cavrie' called 'De Lizon'. Let's take a short break with snacks, and enjoy the beautiful view.
We continue to climb ... is the short stretch leading to the 'Dos Round' (507m), where the crossroad is waiting for us on the path 428b, which we take without delay ... so begins the ring for the return. descend for a while until you reach a ridge along which there are the testimonies of old shelters and a pleasant staging area, where tables are set with the main teaching of wood species and the area ... where you can enjoy a beautiful view with a view of Lake Garda (see photo below).
continue. Here are the 'sources Albi', features springs that flow from the rock. Five minutes and here's a way forest that skirt up to arrive at a crossroads where we keep the direction of the path 428b. Very nice next rest area, where you can admire other teaching and tables, a short distance, the cave of 'Coel', home to a legendary hermit Ceniga. But there is also the convenient picnic tables, we exploit a well-deserved break refreshing.
It continues in bush until you reach the ' Lastoni ' (445m), after which the fun begins descent. We are now on the path 425. The path winds along the rock, with the bottom sometimes brittle (some passages are a bit challenging because pending and a little slippery). Sometimes the trail goes back to being equipped, but is always nice by go, with some points characteristic.
After half an hour of walking, a table signals the end of equipped stroke. Now an easy path leads us to the valley, where we deviate in the direction of 'Dro village, then follow the path said' Campagnola 'which leads us back towards the bridge Roman ring completed ... .
Conclusions: nice and easy hike in an area
always pleasant and full of history. Ideal for those who want to start picking up the metal lines, but even the most jaded, as the beauties of nature and history make this tour unique. The relatively low that the course is practically feasible throughout the year, although in my opinion is not recommended in summer due to constant exposure to the sun. A note for the parking space during "peak" may be difficult to find a place for your car.
