Sono i giorni del 29th International Kite Festival, manifestazione che ogni anno riempie il cielo del lungomare di Cervia con centinaia di aquiloni colorati, grazie agli appassionati che provengono da ogni parte del mondo. Noi ci siamo stati, ma a modo nostro, cercando di unire il dilettevole al… dilettevole :-). Ci siamo chiesti: ma perché raggiungere Cervia con l’auto in mezzo al traffico? Ecco quindi l’idea: arrivare alla periferia di Ravenna, parcheggiare l’auto e con le bici raggiungere poi la manifestazione.
È il primo maggio quando arriviamo al paese di Porto Fuori nelle immediate vicinanze di Ravenna. In poco tempo siamo pronti in sella, cartina alla mano, per inventare l’itinerario che ci dovrà portare a Cervia. Qualcosa abbiamo studiato su internet, ma non trovando “ciclabili certe” ci dovremo un po adattare. L’idea è quella di raggiungere la zona del lungomare per poi mantenersi il più possibile vicino al litorale, sfruttando le stradine secondarie.
Lido Adriano first half, then taking away Reclamation, the avenue leading to the Lido, initially on a pedestrian and cycle track, then, unfortunately, on the road normal. The path becomes dirt road and find a channel ... we follow the course back in search of a crossing point. Here is a paved road and a bridge , one-way alternating , which allows us to move on. Head to the left, in the direction of the coast, on another road. Short is the space that separates us from Lido di Dante, which reach and get around in a southerly direction along a side street. Now the waterfront is just steps to the right ... a dirt road venturing further south in the pine forest.

Inizia un nuovo tratto particolarmente piacevole, con un fondo abbastanza sabbioso ma scorrevole, nonostante risulti inumidito dalle ultime piogge. Siamo nella riserva naturale ‘Duna costiera ravennate e foce del torrente Bevano’, una pineta che si estende da Lido di Dante fino a Lido di Classe. Nota negativa di questo tratto sono le zanzare, che, nonostante sia pieno giorno, assalgono chiunque osi fermarsi per più di due secondi. Manteniamo quindi un’andatura “anti pungiglione” e attraversiamo la pineta, seguendo anche le indicazioni che ora sono chiare ed evidenti lungo il tracciato.
Sbuchiamo su una strada bianca… siamo arrivati al torrente Bevano e ne risaliamo il corso… se vogliamo proseguire verso sud dobbiamo trovare il modo di passare oltre. È d’obbligo una fermata per ammirare il comprensorio, con i tipici capanni da pesca e il caratteristico bacino idrografico (vedi foto sotto), ben visibile grazie all’ausilio di una comoda torretta di osservazione. Proseguiamo lungo la carrabile fino a quando deviamo lungo un sentiero arginale… ci inoltriamo nella vegetazione che precede un nuovo tratto di pineta e troviamo un ponte in legno, predisposto per l’attraversamento ciclo-pedonale-equestre (lungo il tracciato ci sono anche indicazioni per le passeggiate a cavallo).
Siamo nella pineta , in un tratto dell’oasi naturalistica denominata ‘Ortazzo-Ortazzino’; di tanto in tanto ci concediamo qualche sosta per immortalare gli scorci caratteristici e per scorrere i vari cartelli didattici che illustrano le particolarità della zona, che si rivela molto suggestiva e che si attraversa molto volentieri.
Finisce anche questo tratto alberato e ci troviamo a ridosso di un nuovo corso d’acqua… lo seguiamo per un po fino al ponticello che ci permette di oltrepassarlo. Troviamo subito un altro canale e uno stretto sentiero arginale… bello scorcio ! ... a bridge and then back down a road dirt road that you lose sight of an eye, but ... in the right direction. Then keep as a reference point on the coast, turning first left into direction of the sea, then to the south, always white along side streets, which seem to have done with a ruler so straight.
After so much dirt here is that finally crossed the tarmac, or avenue, with lots of pedestrian and cycle track. leads us to Lido di Classe. roam the country lying On the outskirts, where possible along the track cycling , then follow the main road that leads the next Lido di Savio.
Not finding certain directions head towards the seafront. Some establishments beach blocked our road .. a pedestrian and cycle track part in the south ... we take. The protected path takes us through all of Lido, along the key avenue, with shops that characterize any sea resort, but the free ride is over and here we are ... in the traffic of tourists :-).
always kept parallel to the coast, we travel now ordinary roads, thanks to which we Milano Marittima first and then to the port channel Cervia. We are almost there. We now reach the Riviera dei Pini home to the Kite Festival. We unraveled in the chaos of the town center, one way streets and bicycle parts, searching for the beach. Here at last was a path right on the waterfront.
Cycling with refreshed optimism, we begin to perceive the first kite in the sky ... but we expect a final stretch: in fact arrive at a pine forest where you see the ' beginning of the cycle track' Giovanni Gerbi '. 'll Tell you: great! A path entirely in the pine forest, with continuous up and down the dunes just a short walk from the beach ... for a while I felt a child again ;-). But we must keep an eye on the sky, because we have now ... the music and colors that stand out are the signal in the blue ... we deviate, bike in hand, toward the beach ... you open the visual confirmation and we find the goal achieved.
parked the bikes and we will forward in the festival, including music, games , refreshment stand and displaying every kind of item for lovers of kite flying. A lunch break of many colors is a must.
is a real feast of the square, between characters and cultures that come from all part of the globe ... is a world apart, where age does not matter, only the factor that unites all: playing with the wind. il viaggio di ritorno... dobbiamo a malincuore abbandonare la scena nel pieno delle attività della manifestazione. Ripercorriamo quindi il medesimo tracciato fatto all’andata, dalla pineta di Cervia fino al Lido di Dante, oltrepassato il quale, ci ritroviamo a superare il canale con il ponte a senso unico alternato percorso in mattinata. Da qui troviamo una variante al tracciato, che ci consente di bypassare il trafficato tratto da Lido Adriano a Porto Fuori; percorriamo quindi la strada , inizialmente sterrata, che corre lungo l’argine del canale, fino a giungere a ridosso dell’abitato di Porto Fuori, dove ritroviamo il parcheggio e concludiamo il nostro percorso... siamo un po stanchi, ma happy for the happy ride.

The route taken, although that has some long (74km total), can be covered by anyone, as it is completely flat and with sufficient funds also beat dirt road. Perhaps discourage the summer, both the heat and for the mosquitoes, Unfortunately, that infest the stretch of pine forest that we walked between the Lido di Dante and the stream Bevano.

Definitely worth a visit because, as I wrote in the article, is a world unto itself, composed and run by people very happy and funny, which they combine, in a proper balance, art, sports and entertainment ... a world that, with its colors, cheers the thousands of tourists, young and old, who every year flock to the beach promenade of Cervia. The appointment is for 2010 ... always ovviamente, in bici!
